The Birkenstock shoe is an orthopedically designed shoe that is meant to not only be functional, but comfortable as well. Few if any other shoes come anywhere close to matching the quality of this German designed marvel that has been comfort to the feet for a number of years.

Of all the shoes that are manufactured in the world, there are a few designs that may last you a year or perhaps two. The Birkenstock shoe however is designed in order to give your feet many years of comfort. The materials used in the making of these shoes is nothing short of the highest available quality materials, and those licensed to manufacture shoes under the Birkenstock brand must adhere to these standards or risk losing their license to make them.
When these shoes are properly maintained, they will last quite a long time. The cork in the soles of the shoe must be periodically resealed in order to prevent their drying out. Leather should be properly cleaned and suede should be tended with an appropriate brush to maintain the nap of the shoe.
