If your uppers are leather, use a neutral colored cream to condition them and if they become scuffed then you can use a shoe polish that matches the color of your shoe to cover it. You can wash the insides of the shoes, but if you do, be sure to allow them to dry slow. Don’t put them near a heat source to dry them out as this will simply cause them to crack.

The Birkenstock Tatami brand of shoe, many people don’t realize are not actually made by the Birkenstock company themselves, but by another manufacturer under license from Birkenstock. Alpro shoes are shoes that have been manufactured using the designs and technology from the Birkenstock Company. When people hear “orthopedic shoes” they automatically think of those ugly shoes you get from mail order catalogs when the doctor says that you have to get them but in reality, nothing could be further from the truth. Most people will continue to wear shoes that are uncomfortable and in many cases downright painful because they believe this to this day.

Add to that the fact that these shoes are constructed of only the best materials designed for comfort and you’ve got a real winner.
There are a number of other companies that produce shoes using these designs too, but Alpro shoes are probably the most popular of the lot due to the number of styles that are actually available. So go get the shoes you need, with the understanding that the days of “settling” for something less than appealing to you are long ago over thanks to the developments of the Birkenstock Company.
